After attending the New York Phoenix School of Design, Nancy worked for several years as an art director for a New Jersey advertising agency. She then went on to form Gaucher-Thomas Associates an advertising design studio while continuing private study in painting with Paul Wood, Arts Students League; Billie Samuelson; Dorothy Watkeys Barberis,MWS; and workshops with Pat SanSoucie,AWS; Arne Lindmark,AWS; Thomas Sgouros,AWS; Irwin Greenberg,AWS among others.

A signature member of the National Watercolor Society, Ms. Gaucher-Thomas teaches the fine art of watercolour painting in addition to on-location workshops and has served as juror of selection and awards for many organizations including the Naval War College Museum, Newport, RI and the Providence Art Club, Providence, RI. Her paintings have garnered numerous awards in juried exhibitions from across the country and hang in public and private collections in the U.S. and abroad.
